Gil first became interested in radios in the early 90's, right after high school. After a couple years of experimenting, he earned his first ticket in 1996 while attending ITT Technical Institute, working on an Associates in Electronics. Although inactive for the first couple years of his amateur radio career while finishing his first degree, Gil became very active in 2001, first with the Central Massachusetts Amateur Radio Association and then later with the Worcester Emergency Communications Team.

Gil has since earned a Bachelors in Information Technology and is currently working towards his Masters in Software Engineering. He currently works at L-1 Identity Solutions as a software testing automation engineer. Gil enjoys chasing DX on HF phone and PSK31, as well as volunteering at public service events, VE sessions, and emergency communication efforts. He is also the webmaster for both the ARRL WMA section web and the WECT website.
